Purchasing vegetarian pat from the shop may be really costly, particularly if you purchase it for the whole family. But did you know you can simply and quickly create your own vegetarian pat at home? You may make a juicy pat that your kids would love by using mostly veggies (ideally organic).

Time to prepare: 15 minutes

1 hour 15 minutes of cooking time

  • 1 finely chopped organic onion
  • 1 grated organic carrot
  • 2 grated organic potatoes
  • 1/3 cup (83ml) freshly chopped parsley
  • 2 organic garlic cloves
  • 2 organic celery branches
  • 1/2 cup (125ml) of organic grounded sunflower seeds
  • 1/2 cup (125ml) of chickpea flour
  • 1/2 cup (125ml) nutritional yeast
  • 3 tbsp (45ml) of organic olive oil
  • The juice of 1/2 of a lemon
  • 1/4 cup (62.5ml) of organic tamari sauce
  • Italian herbs
  • Salt and pepper if needed
  1. Preheat your oven to 350º.
  2. Put all the ingredients in the food processor with the metal blade and pulse to mix all the ingredients. Not too much to still have a bit of a texture. Put your mixture in a 9″x9″ square oven dish for 1hr and 15 minutes.
  3. Remove it from the oven and let it cool completely before unmolding it.
  4. You can serve it in an antipasto plate or in your favourite sandwich. You can also modify the ingredients to your taste.

This dish is delicious! I used the whole can of chickpeas, but maybe not the next time. I’ve been preparing this for a few weeks and my whole family enjoys it.

honey. Additionally, if you don’t have celery seed, you may leave it out. This recipe has been really successful for us. To replace the sugar, I would suggest a little amount of stevia.

I believe this dish would be much better if the celery seeds were removed. I didn’t have celery seed, so I used cumin.

Vegan and vegetarian. That was a huge success, so I prepared cornbread to accompany it. THIS IS THE GREATEST EVER! I cooked it for my husband’s vegan 50th birthday celebration.

I thought it came out fantastic, however I used half the amount of oil recommended and added approximately 4 tablespoons of applesauce in lieu of the remaining oil.

Wonderful recipe! I had some tofu left over that needed to be utilized. It was simple, nutritious, and delicious.

This is a delicious method to prepare tofu or zucchini. I used whole grain baguette and topped it with cheese before baking it for 15 minutes. That was fantastic!

I tried this recipe on a whim and it came out fantastic. The taste and texture of the pat were delicious! I will most certainly cook it again!

I’m not a vegetarian, but I’ll cook this for my husband and kids whenever they ask for it.
